2022–2023 winter season
Parc Safari, Hemmingford, Quebec
In winter, many wildlife parks close their doors, limiting opportunities for families to enjoy nature experiences. Extending the activity season while respecting natural environments is becoming a real headache for tourism managers.
It is in this context that Parc Safari called on Leblanc Illuminations Canada, an expert in immersive light design, to create a unique nighttime experience combining magic, innovation, and respect for the environment.
In this case study, discover how we rose to the ambitious challenge of creating "Féérie au Parc Safari, " a spectacular winter trail featuring more than 80 light structures spread across four themed worlds.
A large-scale project, completed in record time and under demanding conditions, which demonstrates our expertise and our ability to bring bold visions to life.
The mandate
The client entrusted Leblanc Illuminations Canada with the completion of a turnkey project including:
Creative design and scripting of the journey;
The manufacture and supply of lighting decorations;
Logistics management: shipping, installation, dismantling, and inspection;
Technical coordination with specialized subcontractors.
Total project budget: approximately $1 million before taxes.
The goal: to create a large-scale immersive experience while respecting the site's environmental constraints and animal welfare.
The challenges
Designing a large-scale route without disturbing the natural habitats of animals;
Set up temporary electrical circuits that are safe and adapted to the layout of the park;
Develop modular structures that can be quickly assembled (15 days) and efficiently dismantled (8 days) despite winter conditions.
The realization
The event took place from November 25, 2022, to March 12, 2023, on weekends and during school holidays.
The course included:
Over 80 freestanding light displays (2D and 3D);
Four immersive light ceilings;
Lighting of the entrance to the village, buildings, trees, and paths;
Dynamic lighting effects: sparkles, flashes, and animated sequences;
Custom DMX projections, creating unique magical atmospheres.
The four themed worlds— Africa, Arctica, Foresta, and Magica —took visitors on a sensory and immersive journey through distinct worlds, showcasing Leblanc Illuminations' expertise in visual storytelling and its ability to design unforgettable experiences.
The results
An immersive and unique family experience in the region;
A strong winter tourist attraction, extending the park's opening season;
Increased visibility through media coverage and a strong social media presence;
A solid foundation for future editions, thanks to a flexible, scalable, and sustainable concept.

A visionary project
This project came to fruition thanks to the passion and vision of Mr. Jean-Pierre Ranger, former owner of Parc Safari and a great admirer of Walt Disney. Although the park was acquired in 2025 by the European group Batipart, Mr. Ranger remains a proud ambassador for this unique destination.
Conclusion
Thanks to a clear vision, rigorous execution, and uncompromising creativity, "Féérie au Parc Safari" has transformed a natural site into a must-see winter destination, offering a memorable sensory experience for visitors of all ages.
In an increasingly seasonal tourism market, the ability to extend traffic beyond the summer has become a strategic advantage for parks and cultural venues. This project proves that it is possible to achieve this without compromising either nature or the quality of the experience.
