At Leblanc Illuminations, every project begins with an essential step: understanding the site to be illuminated. Designing a lighting scheme isn't just a matter of installing aesthetic decorations; it's an in-depth process that aims to reveal the personality of a place. To achieve this, several analyses are carried out in order to propose a customized concept that is harmonious, functional and meaningful.
1. Study the history and identity of the site
Every space has a unique soul. Before suggesting a décor, we analyze the site's history, architectural heritage and distinctive cultural elements. This approach ensures that lighting schemes enrich rather than transform the site's identity.
The project at Domaine Howard in Sherbrooke is a fine example, with the creation of a giant light display specially designed for the site. See the case study.
2. Adapt the décor to the type of space
A lively, urban downtown area lends itself to more dynamic décor: interactive structures, moving light effects, bright colors. These installations reflect the energy and rhythm of life in the area, while adding a festive, welcoming atmosphere.
3. Studying the site and visualizing ideas
To ensure the feasibility and visual impact of the project, we carry out a complete site survey. Detailed shots are taken to analyze the environment: streets, lampposts, anchor points, trees or technical constraints.
This information is used to create visual simulations (often referred to as "3D modeling", but based on photos or 2D models). In this way, the customer is able to visualize and validate the concept before installation.

4. Ensuring smooth, safe integration
Every detail counts: street width, height of streetlights, traffic flow, vegetation. Our proposals take into account the existing infrastructure to ensure aesthetic, functional and safe integration.
Successful lighting design is more than just aesthetics: it's a meeting of light and history.
Without a precise analysis of the site and its identity, even the most beautiful décor can seem out of context, or even detract from the visitor experience.
